AskCore questions, answered
Can staff see documents they should not?
No. AskCore reads each document's permissions from the file share or SharePoint and only answers from documents the person could already open. Documents it leaves out are recorded in the audit log.
Where does our data go?
AskCore and its database run on your own servers. Questions and the relevant passages are sent only to your own Azure OpenAI resource, which does not use them to train models.
What happens when the documents do not have the answer?
AskCore says so instead of guessing, offers a hand-off to a person or the helpdesk, and adds the question to the knowledge-gap report so the right owner can fill it.
Does it work in Arabic?
Yes. Staff can ask in Arabic or English and get answers from documents in either language, and documents can be translated between the two.
Do we need Microsoft 365 Copilot licences?
No. AskCore uses Azure OpenAI directly, so you pay for what is used, with cost tracking and a budget alert in the admin console. It can also appear inside Teams and Copilot if you have them.
